Obituary Mary Mercedes Salazar, 92, of Fort Collins passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, of natural causes. She was born September 24, 1922, in Moses, NM, to Trinidad and Antonia (Pacheco) Trujillo. Mary was a devote and life long member of Holy Family participating in the choir and the Altar and Rosary Society. Her love of nature was her primary subject in her china paintings. Her other hobbies included fishing and arrowhead hunting and she enjoyed watching John Wayne movies. During her marriage to Felix P. Salazar, she raised eight children who survive her, Theresa (Tony) Pineda and Dee (Alex) Peralta of Greeley, Rosie Wright and Victor Salazar of LaPorte, Rey Salazar and Cindy Salazar-Putas of Loveland, Tony Salazar and Dan Salazar of Casper, WY. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rosalie Wright, a great-granddaughter, Lindsey Prather, her parents, four sisters and three brothers. Viewing will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Vessey Funeral Service, Fort Collins. A rosary will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Fort Collins. Internment will be at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Family Church Building Fund.
