David P. Gonzalez
March 17th, 1937 - February 9th, 2019
David P. Gonzalez, 81, of Salinas passed away peacefully on February 9, 2019 at his home in Salinas. David was born on March 17, 1937 in Mexicali, Baja California. David worked as a truck driver for Bud Antle and Bruce Church for many years. He was also the owner of Ciros Bar and Ciros Catering Trucks. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved music and enjoyed dancing. He loved baseball and was a huge fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He will live on in our hearts and in our memories forever. Our Don David will be missed dearly. David is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Natalia Gonzalez, his wife Mercedes Gonzalez and his son Jose Edmundo Gonzalez Luna. He is survived by his daughters; Silvia (Rafael) Roano of Mexicali, Lorena (Eduardo) Garcia, Belen (Javier) Tamayo, Nancy (Eli) and Natalie Gonzalez all of Salinas. Sons; Arturo Gonzalez of Mexicali and David (Jeni) Gonzales of Bakersfield, Brother; Pedro (Rosa) Gonzalez of Tijuana and Sisters; Natalia (Cruz) Oropeza of Calexico, Angelina (Lucio) Camacho of Riverside and Alicia (Ruben) Solis of Calexico. 19 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019 1-9pm with a Rosary vigil at 7pm, all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019 10am at St. Mary of the Nativity Church 424 Towt St. Salinas, CA 93905. Burial to follow services at the Garden of Memories Cemetery 850 Abbott St. Salinas, CA 93901.

He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
