Cynthia Anne Velarde Gonzalez, 60, of Salinas passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital surrounded by loved ones. She was born on March 1, 1959 in Salinas, CA to Peter & Esther Velarde. She has resided in California and Oregon. She is known to many as a strong willed and independent woman with a deep love for her family, kids, and grandkids. She loved her service dogs Cali, Tiara and Bristol and spent a lot of time with them. She is survived by her siblings: Pete, Lori and David. Her children: Michael Urquides of Oregon, Armando Gonzalez III of Hollister and Christina Gonzalez of Salinas. Her grandchildren, Sierra (21), Mikey (20), Tyler (18), Joel (16), Josiah (15), Ivory (12), Devin (11), Evie (11), Elise (7), and Armando IV (2). And her service dog, Bristol. She is preceded in death by her parents: Peter (February 2009) and Esther (April 1982). Her Siblings: Herlinda and Paul (April 2011). And her service dogs: Cali and Tiara. Her cremation is being handled by Healey Mortuary. There will be a Memorial Service at the New Life Church of the Nazarene at 800 North Main St on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2 PM.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
