Melinda Kay Brady

Obituary On July 5, 2014, Melinda Brady went home to be with Our Lord, and Savior and her Daddy. Melinda was born on February 20, 1973 at Moody AFB Valdosta GA. In 1976, her family moved to Gunnison Colorado. In1983 her family moved to Modesto California. When she was 17 years old, she surrendered her life to the mission field. She attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene TX. After college, she moved to Memphis, Tennessee to work with at-risk youth at an inner-city church. She served for over seven years with Youth Villages, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and their families live successfully. She started at Youth Villages as a Residential Treatment Specialist, and then moved into Adoption Services. She was a relentless champion of disadvantaged children and youth. When cancer hit, it was hard for Melinda to step away from the work that was her calling. However, she never saw herself as helpless or a victim. Instead, she took her experience as a cancer survivor to help others fighting cancer to stay strong and have hope. Melinda is survived by her Mother Kathleen Brady, Sister Kimberly Brady-Bahrani, Brother-in-Law Hesham Bahrani, two Nephews Haithem Bahrani and Wife Audrey Kirkland-Bahrani and Laith Bahrani, one Niece Dannah Bahrani, Uncle Dennis Ferrero, Aunt Karen Ferrero, Cousin Gina Ferrero, Sheila Trammel. Join Melinda's family and friends on July 15, 2014 for a memorial service at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 7755 Greenstone Trail, Fort Collins, Colorado, 80525 There will be a basket in the reception area and notepaper so the guest can write a short note to be read during the service.
