Leland Lee Holter

Obituary Leland "Lee" Holter, 73, of Fort Collins passed away on January 15, 2014 in Denver after attending the National Western Stockshow. Lee was born May 29, 1940 in Burlington, CO to John and Alice Holter. He grew up on the plains of Eastern Colorado and graduated from Eads High School. After a tour in the US Army, he came to Fort Collins in 1966 and worked in the plumbing business with his brother George. He enjoyed building new homes and farming. Lee loved to keep in touch with all of his family. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and spending time at the cabin in Red Feather. He was an avid sports fan and loved bull riding. He loved roller coasters and the dog and horse races. Lee enjoyed visiting new churches, especially Potter House in Denver, Timberline Church, and Resurrection Fellowship. Lee leaves behind his loving companion, Deanna Duda, daughters Michelle Halligan of Sterling, Kelly Holter of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Lori Holter of Sterling, sister Ethel Oquist, brothers John and George, granddaughters Amber Douglas (James), Kassidy Zwaagstra and Brianna Craghead and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Faye Patterson, and brothers Hank and Howard. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22 from 10 AM until noon at Vessey Funeral Home, followed by services at 2 PM at Windsong Estate, NE corner of Hwy 14 and Hwy 257, East of Fort Collins. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, January 23 at 1 PM, Eads Cemetery, Eads, CO. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Vessey Funeral Service.
