Obituary Ima Gean Parkhurst, 89, of Ft. Collins died on January 8, 2014 at her home with her family at her side. She was born on Feb. 9, 1924 in Oak MO to Bert and Ethel Young. She graduated from Maysville High, Maysville, Missouri in 1942 and began working for the war effort as a riveter for aircraft. She was a "Rosey the Riveter". She also worked for Remington Arms during the war as a bullet inspector. In 1944 she married Michael Sexton. In 1958 she married Neil E. Parkhurst in Denver. In 1961 they moved to Fort Collins and Neil died in 1968. After his death she had to learn to drive a car as Neil had done all of the driving up until that the time of his death. She worked as a Lunch Time aid at Moore Elementary School while her children were growing up and then was content to be a homemaker the rest of her life. Ima Gene loved her garden and enjoyed keeping her home in Fort Collins. Survivors include her children Randal Dewayne (Jeanine) Parkhurst , Patricia J.(Ron) Hall and Teresa Jean (Kevin) Pawuk, grandchildren Robert Alan Hall, Shari Lynn Roach, Ryan Strobbe, Drake Brandon Pawuk, Kelsey Jean Pawuk Garrett Paul Pawuk, Colby (Pricilla) Kuemmerlin and Angie ( Darin) Pesola, great-grandchildren Alexa Weldon, Kendra Hall, Angel SanFilippo, Stesha Hall, Ferrari SanFilippo, Cammy Jo SanFillipo, Belarae Roach, Ricky Wayne Roach, great-great-granchildren Chloe SanFilippo, Jaden Meggison, Thomas Storobbe, Alena Strobbe, Jarden and Luca Pesola and her sister Shirley Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Neil. A graveside service will be held on Monday January 13, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins.
