Thelma Mae Williams
June 18th, 1928 - January 31st, 2023
Thelma Mae Williams of Woodland, California went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2023, at the age of 94. Thelma was born to Wes and Sarah Ethel Burbridge, on June 18, 1928, in Cassville, Missouri. She had two brothers, Glenn Westpheling and George R. Burbridge, and one sister Bessie Butler. Thelma's family moved to Yuba City, California when she was age eighteen, having just graduated from high school in Missouri. Thelma met the love of her life, Buford Williams, at a church function in 1949, and they were married in 1950. Buford and Thelma had four children: Karen, Norman, Randall, and Kenny Williams. The family eventually moved to Live Oak, California, after they lost their home to the devastating 1955 flood in Yuba City. Buford and Thelma raised their family in a Christian home and attended Live Oak First Baptist Church. After Buford's death in 1982, Thelma moved to Woodland, California, to be next to her children and grandchildren. There she became a member of the Woodland United Fellowship Church until her death. Thelma is survived by her sister, Bessie Butler of Temecula, California; children, Karen F. Williams of Woodland, Norman Williams (Karen) of Woodland, Randall Williams (Deborah) of Yuba City, and Kenny Williams (Lisa) of Yuba City; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Thelma loved the Lord and loved her family. Her whole life was dedicated to serving her Lord and Savior and being an example to her family of what a Christian should be. Today we rejoice because she is seeing our Savior face to face. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11:30 am at the Live Oak First Baptist Church, 2480 Pennington Rd., with food to be served immediately following the service. Interment at 2pm at the Live Oak Cemetery on the same day.
