Pauline Beatrice Long) Brady

February 9, 1913 -June 8, 2014 Pauline Beatrice (Long) Brady was born in Scott City, Kansas on February 9, 1913 to Clarence C. and Stella Mae (Brock) Long. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Thurman "Lee" Brady, son Tommy Jay Payne, and her four brothers. She is survived by her daughter Kalyn Slayton and son-in-law Kay, grandchildren Mitchell Payne, Teresa Payne, Peggy Punako, Kevin Payne, Nicole Cerotsky, Jeff Slayton, and Chris Slayton; along with 11 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pauline attended high school in Borger, Texas and lived much of her young adult life in and around Mangum, Oklahoma. She and Lee moved to Sutter, California in 1949 where she resided until she moved to Bakersfield in 2011. Pauline loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She and Lee owned and operated the Westside Market in Sutter for 11 years. She was an avid bowler for over 30 years and traveled the U.S. to national tournaments with the ladies from the Yuba City Lanes. She traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, and Bermuda as well. She enjoyed social games of all kinds. She played couples and ladies Bridge Club for 40 plus years, and she particularly enjoyed Friday night card games with her family over the last two years. Pauline was also known for her delicious candy making at the holidays. Pauline was a devoted, life-long Christian and was active in First Christian Church of Marysville, CA for 60 years. Memorial Services are scheduled at Sutter United Methodist Church, 7751 South Butte Road, Sutter, CA at 10:30 AM Friday, June 20, 2014, followed by a reception after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in honor of Pauline Brady to Optimal Hospice Foundation, 4700 Stockdale Highway, Ste. 120, Bakersfield, CA 93309, or the charity of your choice . Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Isaiah 35:5
