Dorothy Russell

Dorothy Russell, 107, of Yuba City, CA, died on August 6, 2014, at Grass Valley, CA.Mrs. Russell was born July 9, 1907, at Unadilla, NE, the daughter of Philip and Dora (Roberts) Goering. She married David Russell in 1939 at Wilber, NE.In 1940, the Russells moved to Yuba City, where Dorothy was a piano teacher and provided child care for several families.She had two children, Ronald and LaDonna, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.Dorothy was a member of Emmanuel Faith Tabernacle, Linda, CA; and in her later years attended Liberty Bible Church, Yuba City. She enjoyed participating in church quilting groups and composing original worship choruses.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, LaDonna Munar; daughter-in-law, Elnora (Warkentin) Russell; brothers; Lee, Paul, Raymond and Loren Goering, and sister Ruth McDaniel.Mrs. Russell is survived by her son, Pastor Ronald Russell and his wife Caroline, of Humboldt, NE; son-in-law, Frank Munar of Yuba City, CA; grandchildren Lorna Johal of Yuba City, CA, Eldon Russell of Humboldt, NE, Bruce Russell and his wife Deena of Yuba City, CA; great-grandchildren Steve Johal of Fremont, CA, Julie Johal of Temecula, CA, Julia, Kaylee, and David Russell of Yuba City, CA; sister-in-law, Lavon Brunsdon of Syracuse, NE; and many nephews and nieces.A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, Yuba City, CA; with Pastor Larry Koen officiating. Burial will be at Sutter Cemetery, Sutter, CA. Ullrey Memorial Chapel, Yuba City, CA, is in charge of arrangements for Dorothy Russell.Memorials will be given to family's choice
