Obituary William Patrick Tracy, Jr. passed away on January 22, 2013 at the Veterans Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming after a long illness. Bill was born in Galeton, Colorado on October 23, 1922 to William Patrick and Opha Lenora (Hendrickson) Tracy. He attended school in Galeton and graduated from Galeton High School. After high school, he joined the Army at the beginning of WW II and became a Remote Control Turret Gunner and aerial gunner in the Army Air Corps. He rose to the rank of Technical Sergeant prior to his discharge at the end of the war in November of 1945. He was decorated with the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, American Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross. On September 18, 1949 he married Margaret Elleda Stanley in Galeton. On August 26, 1957 their marriage was sealed in the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. Margaret passed away September 4, 1985. Except for two years when he lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bill resided in Northern Colorado. He was a Union Sheet Metal Worker until his retirement in 1984. Bill was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is survived by his sons William Patrick Tracy III, Michael Dale Tracy, Bryan Hugh Tracy and wife Tess, , Kevin Wade Tracy and wife Karen, Sidney Seth Tracy and girlfriend Virginia Hernandez, Douglas Doyle Tracy , and Miles Enoch Tracy, his daughters Becky Jean Tracy, Gwendolyn Irene Tracy, Karen Louise Jordan and husband Richard, and Peggy Collette Schaffer and husband Kenneth, three brothers Ray, Dan and Tim Tracy and a sister Evelyn Tracy, fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margaret, two brothers and three sisters. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the LDS Stake Center 600 E. Swallow Road, Fort Collins, Colorado at 10 A.M. with viewing from 9 AM to 9:40 AM. Interment will follow at 2:30 P.M. at the Keota Cemetery, Keota, Colorado. Those wishing to see Mr. Tracy may call at the Vessey Funeral Service Chapel on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 10 AM to 5 PM.
