Grace I. Ettl
August 12th, 1917 - November 11th, 2014
Grace I. Ettl, age 97, of Meridian, CA, passed away November 11, 2014. Grace was born to Edward and Emma Lang in Van Nuys, CA, on August 12, 1917. She was the youngest of four children. The family migrated to the Meridian area in 1926. They immediately began farming. Grace was enrolled into Slough Elementary School, then graduated from Sutter High School. She married Ferd Ettl in 1946 and built their home in 1949. She was a degree holder from Fine Arts Institute. She was an art teacher at Winship Elementary School for 35 years and an art instructor for the Sutter County Senior Citizens Center for 30 years. She was a farmer's wife and homemaker all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982. She is survived by many nephews and nieces. Viewing will be at Ullrey Memorial Chapel Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 4-7pm. Graveside services will be at Meridian Cemetery, Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 10:00 am. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 am at Yuba City First Lutheran Church with a reception to follow.
