Obituary Marjorie Walker Johnston, child of God, artist, pianist, seamstress, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, 93, of Fort Collins, Colorado, formally, of Sunsites, Arizona, passed away May 3, 2012. She was born in Worchester, Mass. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lawrence Walker and Genevieve Peterson Walker, siblings Faye White, Lawrence Walker, James Walker and Phillip Walker, husband Everett Johnston. She will be sorely missed by son John and wife Barb Mawer, ofChanhassen, Minnesota and daughter Patricia and husband Stephen Page , of Fort Collins, Colorado, grandchildren, Michael and wife Cynamon Garrott, of Greeley, Colorado, Angie and husband Josh Patrin, of Cologne, Minnesota, John Garrott, of Fort Collins, Colorado, Dan and wife Kelly Mawer, of Savage, Minnesota, Annie Marie and husband Trevor Garrett, of Greeley, Colorado and Laura and husband Staff Sergeant Jeffrey Henry, of Okinawa, Japan and ten great-grandchildren, Alysia Brown-Garrett, Haley Patrin, Brayden Garrott, Kaylee Garrett, Katie Patrin, Joshua Garrott, Peyton Garrett, Jasmine Henry, Shaun Henry and Eleanor Mawer. Marjorie, graduated from Grand Central School of Art, in New York. Throughout her life she won many awards for her outstanding artwork. Her painting of the Madonna and Child took top award in Los Angeles , California Methodist Church competition. Her painting appeared on the front cover of outstanding artists in Los Angeles, California. Teaching painting was her top desire. She played the piano like an angel, perfect with such feeling. As a mother she taught us the greatest gift to love God above all and to follow what God has planned for us in this life. God used her to lead others to God, by teaching Sunday school for nine years at St. Marks Episcopal Church, in Glendale, California. Marge as she like to be called was president of the Glendale Art Association, president of the Tuesday Afternoon Club in Glendale, California, active in PTA, den mother for the Cub Scouts, Brownie leader, active in Job's Daughter for Bethel 131, Chamber of Commerce volunteer, executive secretary at Colonial Insurance, Los Angeles, California, active in the VFW, in Sunsites, Arizona and active in Sunsites Golf Association. Marjorie had a talent for interior design and her homes reflected her love for home. She was a fashion designer. She did hand beading which was used in giving the finishing touches to the gowns that she made for her daughter. She was an avid reader and kept up with current events right up t o the end of her time with us. In her later years she took up crossword puzzles, mastering even the most difficult.
