May 8th, 1948 - February 9th, 2021
On February 9, 2021, at the age of 72, Sharon Cummings passed away peacefully with her husband, Van and their daughter, Laurie by her side. Sharon was born on May 8, 1948, in Bakersfield, CA, to Lloyd Melvin and Reba Irene Threlkeld. They moved to Gridley in 1950, and then she moved to Yuba City in 1964, with the love of her life. Sharon married Van Leroy Cummings of Yuba City, CA, on June 10, 1964. They were married for 56 years. They raised three wonderful children. Over the years, Sharon worked at Kmart and the Sutter County Tax Collector. She retired in 2000. Her greatest passions were going on trips with her amazing grandchildren, shopping, puzzles, and gambling. The family would like to thank all of her medical doctors and everyone at American Renal Association for taking great care of Sharon in her last six years. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Reba; brothers, Jimmy and Carl; and sister, Shirley Threlkeld. She is survived by her loving husband, Van Cummings; three children, Laurie (Jamie) Zamagni of Yuba City, Tim Cummings of Yuba City, and Lisa (Matt) Wilmes of Hazel Green, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Amy, Adam, Abby, and Ally Zamagni, Tyler Cummings, and Sarah, Michael, and Mitchell Wilmes; two great grandchildren, Tj and Trenton Cummings; brothers, Wayne Threlkeld of Bakersfield, CA, Arvin (Betty) Threlkeld of Live Oak, CA; sister, Verna (Bill) Edwards of Yuba City, CA; many nieces and nephews; and two black labs, Charlie and Molly.
