Joseph Jesus Luna
May 22nd, 1991 - January 29th, 2021
Joseph Luna was born on May 22, 1991. He was called by God to stand at his side on January 29, 2021. Joseph was born and raised in Salinas. He loved his community. He was determined to make a difference in his city. His life was proof of it. Joseph attended Salinas High School then graduated from Mount Toro in 2009. He went on to attend and graduate from Lifestyle Christian University and from the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences. He had a entrepreneurial spirit. He worked as an Audio Engineer and also owned two businesses, an auto detailing (Moonshine Auto Detailing) and a shoe buy sell trade business (JKicks831). He didn’t start these businesses to simply have a larger income, he started these businesses with intention, to be able to give more. One of Joseph’s life goals was to work for the Salinas Police Department. He wanted to do this for his family and to be part of change in his community. He was on his way there, having completed the training and passing his exams. Joseph was a member and served faithfully at Venture Church Salinas. He was the sound engineer and spoke about his faith whenever given the chance. He loved spending time with his family. Lake trips and beach outings were his favorite. He was an avid Raiders, Giants, Warriors and Sharks fan. Joseph was known and will be remembered by his giving spirit, his strong and bold faith, his heart to serve and the way he loved people so well, sparking conversations with those many wouldn’t. Everything he did was with a humble heart and his family in mind. He is survived by his wife; Susie; His children; Abel, Sarai and Josiah; His parents Lori Luna (Richard), Reyes Luna (Alejandra), Augustine Sosa (Andrea); Siblings; Daniel Luna (Monique), Angel Sosa, Jacob Sosa, Cathryn Luna, and Omar Monsivais; His grandparents; Josie and Jose Luna; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandmother; Yolanda Rodriguez. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 10th from 2pm-5pm. Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 11th at 11:30am. Both will be held at Crossroads Church – 1035 Rogge Road, Salinas. A private burial will follow.

We Entrusted Joseph Luna's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
