Fred Contreras, 94, passed away in Beaumont California on Friday, March 12th, 2021. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on November 12, 1926. He was married to the love of his life, Billie, on March 25th 1947. Fred was an insurance agent for over 50 years, owning his own independent insurance agency for over 30. He also served as State President of the Mexican American Golf Association from 1990 to 1993. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lions and Kiwanis clubs and, along with Billie, sang in the Monterey County Diocesan choir and the choir at Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church in Salinas. He was an avid fisherman and golfer and adored his family. He was predeceased by his beautiful wife Billie and grandson Marc Anthony Magdaleno. He leaves children Christine Buck, Marie Magdaleno, Frederick Contreras and Stephen Contreras. Loving grandfather to 10, great grandfather to 16 and great-great grandfather to 2. Viewing is on Thursday, April 15th from 1:00-9:00 pm at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas. Funeral mass in on Friday, April 16th at 10:00am at Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church at 320 E. Laurel Dr. Salinas. Burial to follow.
