Charles Henry Manning Jr. was born November 17, 1921 in Sacramento, Ca. He left this world peacefully surrounded by family on April 6, 2018 to join his beloved wife, Sheila. Our dear, dear Poppy was a son, a brother, a veteran, P.O.W., Cal Bear graduate, golfer extraordinaire, husband, building contractor, fisherman, farmer, equestrian horse breeder, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his three children, Libby Personett of Chico, Steve Manning of Meadow Vista and Tom Manning of Durham. He has also left behind nine adoring grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Poppy was generous and loving not only to his family, but to many friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. In lieu of flowers, please give donations to Handi-Riders. A Graveside service will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:00p.m. at Glen Oaks Memorial Park.
