Florence "Penny" Smith
September 14th, 1927 - August 29th, 2018
Florence A. Smith (Penny) died just a few weeks short of her 91st birthday, August 29th, 2018, peacefully and surrounded by loved ones. Penny was born on September 14th, 1927 in Queens, New York. After meeting a dashing trumpet player, she moved from New York to California in order to start a long and wonderful life. She was a two-time breast cancer survivor and multiple operations later, we were all very thankful to God that we had her with us for as long as we did. Penny is survived by her loving husband, Richard R. Smith, 4 children; Michael Smith, Gary Smith, Diane Raihle and Robyn Katz, and too many grandchildren and great grandchildren to list! She was a strong woman who we all looked upon as our rock of the family. Her dedication to God and the church only made her stronger. A Chapel Memorial is scheduled for Thursday, September 6th at 10am at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church.
