Lanny C. Otts
September 14th, 1944 - March 31st, 2022
Lanny Clayton Otts died unexpectedly on March 31, 2022 at the age of 77. He was born on September 14, 1944 in Breckenridge, TX and resided in Salinas. Lanny was retired after 45 years from Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. He was a Veteran of the United States Airforce. Lanny had a passion for the outdoors, which included gardening, especially tending to his bonsais. In his younger years he enjoyed backpacking, biking, roller blading, volleyball and various other sports. He was also a passionate fan of the San Francisco 49ers and computer video games. His favorite time of day was in the evening enjoying a glass of wine with the love of his life, his wife Gay Otts while catching up on the news and watching Jeopardy. Lanny is survived by his loving wife, Gay Otts, his 3 sons, Tim Otts, Mathew Otts (Rober) and Anthony Otts (Gabriele), his 3 stepdaughter’s Tiffany Stutz (Chuck), Stacey Van Hoose-Gunwall (Bryan) and Jamie Tindall (Ramiro). He is survived by 11 grandchildren, Tynan, Kiana, Lucas, Sophia, Noah, Pascale, Trevor, Tyler, Heather, Jacie and Samantha. His is preceded in death by his mother, Doris McGee and sister Lynann Gunwall. Services will be held at Garden of Memories Mausoleum, Salinas CA, April 29, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
