John "Juan" Dolores Martinez passed away on May 11, 2022 at teh age of 69. He was born in Salinas, Ca on August 22, 1952 to John Martinez and Socorro Garcia. John was an activist and community organizer spending much of his life trying to make his community a better place for everyone. Services will be held for Juan on Wednesday, June 1st at St. Theodore's Church in Gonzales, starting with a Rosary at 10am leading into a Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial at Gonzales Cemetery District.

He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area.
