Audie Ellen Wallace
December 22nd, 1930 - November 1st, 2022
Audie Ellen Wallace passed away peacefully on November 1, 2022. Audie was born on December 22, 1930 in Ozark, Arkansas the sixth of seven children to Velma and Sam Leaver. Moving to California with her family in the 1950’s she lived in Salinas for more than 60 years. Before retiring Audie worked as the bookkeeper for Nob Hill Foods in Salinas. She was a member of Valley Baptist Church. She and her husband Wally were very active in the community. Spending much time working with the Shriners raising funds for the Shriner Hospital and traveling for Shriner events. She was a member of Ladies of Oriental Shrine of North America Ankh Court #92 and Eastern Star and enjoyed spending time with the other members making travel bags for Foster Children. Audie was a certified clown marching with Shriners in parades all over the State. Audie cared deeply for her and Wally’s family. Spending time with five sisters was always a time of celebration. She was the last living member of her six siblings and missed them all greatly. Her grandchildren were especially special to her and she leaves many happy memories with each one of them. Audie is survived by her daughter Cathy Hunter of San Luis Obispo, Ca (Tim) and Robert Hunter of Fallon, Nevada. Stepson Steven Wallace, Texas, Stepdaughter Karen Chapman of Oklahoma. Nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Many loving nieces and nephews and cousins. Proceeded in death, the love her life Leroy Wallace, son Scott Hunter, sisters Nina Carsten, Chrystine Riggs, Norlene Whitson, Betty Inman, Billie Steele, and brother Sam Leaver, Jr. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 1 - 5 PM at the Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd., Salinas, CA Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Healey Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott St., Salinas, CA

Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
