June 6th, 1926 - January 19th, 2020
Cora Rae Hubbard of Salem, OR was born on 6/6/1926 in St. Joseph, MO. She passed away on Jan. 19, 2020. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 31st at 11:00 a.m. at Brusies Funeral Home, 626 Broadway, Chico CA — There will be no viewing. Graveside services will be held approximately 12:45 p.m. at Glen Oaks Memorial Pk., 11115 Midway, Chico, CA. Cora Rae moved to LA, CA after her father, Orrin Francis Foster, died when she was 9 years old. She and her Mother, Luellyn Dawes Foster, along with Cora's older siblings, Lee Etta Foster Dewey and Julia Foster Briggs. She attended Polytechnic High (Junior) and Muir High School. She worked at the large LA County Library during this time. Pasadena was also a city of residence, 306 N Euclid St., and Pasadena City College was attended during her high school years because the U.S. army used the last campus during the war years. While in Los Angeles she attended the 11th Street Baptist Church and a young man caught her eye. She followed him to prayer meetings and to choir. He was in California from his home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama attending an aircraft school. They were married in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on August 20th, 1943. Her husband served in the Army-Aircorps. They were married 54 years before passing in 1997. During their years together they lived in Azusa, CA and ended up in Paradise, CA then Chico, CA. Mother was in Telecommunicationsas a Telephone operator for 17 years for Butte County. They enjoyed working at the Baptist church wherever they lived. A true Baptist until the end. She loved Jesus Christ and taught her children and they, too, love our Savior Jesus Christ. She is survived by, her son and daughter In-law, Robert and Marie Hubbard, her daughter and son-in-law , Bonita and Phillip Banfield, 10 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grand-children and a group of wonderful family members who dearly love her. We are all grateful to have been a part of her life and to have been loved by her.
