John Sansone Jr.
December 1st, 1938 - July 12th, 2023
John Sansone Jr., 84, retired, died on Thursday July 13 at Community Hospital in Monterey. He passed peacefully after battling cancer. He was born in Monterey Dec. 1, 1938 and lived in Monterey County more than 80 years. John was a dedicated father who loved golf, coffee, and his best friend, Marietta. He served briefly in the US Navy after graduating from Monterey High School in 1957. Final arrangements are being handled by Healey Mortuary John served as a Real Estate Broker (Sansone Real Estate) and a grocer in various local grocery stores and a meter reader for PG&E. He also served as a driver for Hertz and for Yellow Cab after retiring. He is survived by his son Mike (Angela) of Omaha, NE and by his loving best friend and partner in life, Marietta of Marina, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents (John Sr and Pauline), his brothers (Joe and Peter) and his son (John Anthony). John’s wishes are that there be no visitation or services. Gifts or Contributions are preferred to go to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD. 21741.

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
