Julie Ann Cyr

Julie Ann Cyr was a vibrant and kind-hearted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend with a selfless heart, a joyful spirit, and an endearing laugh. Julie filled the community around her with kindness and beauty, planting a flower garden at her apartment complex, which she tended to regularly. She had a deep love for animals and provided homes to all the abandoned or stray cats she encountered in her neighborhood. A lifelong resident of Chico, Julie was a familiar face at the Bidwell Park One-Mile, where she walked every day. She always greeted other trail users with a smile, a kind word, or an ear scratch for their dogs, whom she remembered by name. Prior to her retirement, Julie worked in medical records and billing at Chico Community Hospital, Enloe Hospital, and various medical offices throughout the city. She played tennis at a competitive level and was an alumna of Pleasant Valley High School (1971) and Butte College, where she was voted homecoming queen. In recent years, she provided care for her mother. To those fortunate enough to call her a friend, Julie remained a loyal, lifelong connection. She will be greatly missed by those friends and by the family who adored her.
