Lynne Diane Buckman
March 5th, 1942 - March 3rd, 2021
Lynne Diane (Zeeb) Buckman, born in Hamilton City on March 5, 1942, one of two children of the late Peter Paul and Tillie Marian (née Pearson) Zeeb passed away at her home in Chico on March 3, 2021. Lynne attended and graduated from Hamilton City High School in 1960. She resided in Sausalito while employed for the old Crocker Bank in San Francisco, and then returned to Chico. Lynne met Chicoan Don Buckman in the early 1960s through mutual friends and they were married in January 1964 at Bidwell Presbyterian Church in Chico. They became the parents of two children: MariAnn and Donald Mark (1966-2015). Upon Don's father's death in 1964 the couple took over the existing Don Buckman Inc. business, eventually selling it, with Wizard Manufacturing Inc., coming into being in 1979. Lynne kept the office running with bookkeeping and invoicing as the building of walnut hulling and drying equipment for the next 30 years was a going concern. Retirement in 2009 gave them time to enjoy other interests. They enjoyed weekends at the Bucks Lake family cabin as well as years of travel in their motor home, as members of the Elks RV group. Lynne is predeceased by her husband Don in 2016, son Mark, parents, and brother Paul. She is survived by her daughter MariAnn (Steve) Lucena; sister-in-law Susan Zeeb; and grandchildren Austen and Carmen Lucena, Sandi and Trevor Buckman and nieces and nephew. Graveside services will be conducted at Glen Oaks Memorial Park, at 2 PM on Saturday March 13, 2021. Donations may be made to the Omega Nu Sorority General Fund; the Honey Run Covered Bridge Association or the Butte County 4-H Scholarship Fund, all in care of Brusie Funeral Home.
