Merlene 'Mernie' Fay Wilson Merlene " Mernie" Fay Wilson. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Merlene on May 17, 2021 after a battle with Congestive Heart Failure. Merlene was born May 31, 1955 in Ukiah, California to Frances Wilson. She spent most of her life raising her children in Mendocino County before moving to Chico in 2006 to be with her mother. Merlene was well known for her kind heart, infectious friendship and always having an open door for anyone in need. She had many friends, extended family, and was loved by so many. Merlene is survived by her mother Frances Potter of Chico, Ca. Her daughter Jami Flores and husband Isaias. Her son Harold Renick and wife Tamara. Her sisters Linda Potter, Janice Muniz and brother Bill Potter. Grandchildren Andres and Narytza Flores, Tachyna and Nathanel Renick, Cade, Kiara and Harold Renick. Bonus grandchildren Lacey, Keisha, Jason, Marcus and Maria. Great grandchildren Anghel, Alani and Xelin. Nieces Jennifer and Mernie Demezes, Sway Burton. Nephews Robbie Muniz, Charlie Whipple and Xelin Tuttle and numerous other nieces and nephews, cousins and family members in both Butte and Mendocino Counties. Merlene was preceded in death by her son Eric Renick, her brother Harold Potter and sister Annie Demezes. The family will be having a beachside memorial on June 16, 2021 at 1 pm in Westport at Union Landing beach.
