Linda Sue Child in Oakland, California, to Virgil and Rae Child on May 3, 1944. She was raised in Texas and moved back to California in 1964 with a degree in Mathematics. in July of that year, she married David L. Kennedy at Newman Hall Catholic Church, Berkeley. She is survived by two sons, John (and Nancy) and Scott (and Dana) Kennedy and granddaughter Sydney Rose Kennedy. She was a Chief Fiscal Officer at Gold Oak Union School District for over 20 years. Before she was a computer systems engineer, programmer, business owner, bartender, and shopkeeper. She had two brothers, Michael and Stephen Child, and a sister, Sharon Messer. She was active in OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute), both in Reno (as a teacher and board member) and Chico (as a student). She is survived by David, her loving husband of over 55 years. She is a member of Our Devine Saviour Catholic Church and was on their Finance Council. No formal services are planned. She passed away on 09/21/2023. She will be interred at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, California. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Enloe Hospital Foundation.
