Robert Harold Reeder
October 12th, 1943 - January 9th, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of beloved husband, father, and Grandfather Robert Harold Reeder, who passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 9, 2022, in Jackson, CA, at the age of 78 years old. Born in Oakland, CA on October 12, 1943, Bob, as everyone knew him, was the son of the late Lucille Marie (Kruse) and James Lowell Reeder. Bob was first raised San Lorenzo and eventually in Fremont, CA. After attending San Jose State University where he studied business administration and accounting, he served in the Army National Guard. He married America Lucia Barron in 1968, and together they had five children - Monique, Chris, Paul, Nicole, and Audrey. Throughout his life, Bob launched and managed several successful small businesses including Reeder Type, US Advertising, GRS, Inc., Reeder Sutherland Inc., and Allstate Plumbing. He was passionate about building and developing as well as politics. He served as a Fremont city Councilman and Vice Mayor in the early 1980's; also, he served as an accountant and later as Vice President for the family home building business, Glenmoore Homes, working alongside his father, James, and brother Jim, for many years. He and America relocated to Ione, CA, in 2000, where he continued developing land - notably Zinfandel Ridge in Plymouth - as the president of Reeder Sutherland Inc. Bob loved the outdoors. He loved camping, hiking, and fishing in the Sierras and spent a good deal of time at Silver Lake with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also loved the Sierra foothills and especially the historical towns in the area. He accepted Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior in his forties and faithfully served Him all the rest of His days. He was passionate about prison ministry and served on the board of Follow Up Ministries for many years. Bob was deeply loved, admired, and respected by his family and all those whose lives he touched. He will be most remembered for his kindness, generosity, humility, sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and his love for our great country. Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, America Reeder of Ione, CA; his daughters - Monique (Stefan) Horstschraer of El Dorado Hills, CA, Nicole (Mike) Reeder-Korolyk of Richmond, CA, and Audrey (Steve) Richter of Redlands, CA; and his sons - Chris (Bethany) Reeder of Loomis, CA and Paul (Aimee) Reeder of Acampo, CA. Bob is also survived by his two sisters, Mary Ellen (Allan) Brenneis of Rancho Santa Fe, CA and Jo Ann Stansberry of Roseville, CA; and his brother, James (Susan) Reeder of Fremont, CA. He was grandpa to and is also survived by 21 grandchildren. He will be sorely missed and reluctantly let go. We look forward to seeing him again someday. Private services will be held. Interment will take place at the Ione Public Cemetery, Ione, CA. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. Contributions in Bob's name may be sent to Follow up Ministries at P.O. Box 2514 Castro Valley, CA 94546.
