With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of LaCrecia "Dianne" Shortridge from natural causes at her home in Jackson, CA on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at the age of 79 years old. She was born in Sacramento, CA on February 17, 1942, and is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Steven L. Shortridge, and her parents Kathleen Barbara (Haag) and Glenn L Williams. Dianne is survived by her son, Chad Shortridge; daughter-in-law, Laura Shortridge; and granddaughter, Jenna Shortridge, of South Lake Tahoe, CA; son, Brent Shortridge, of Napa, CA; brother, Gary Williams, and wife Cheryl, of Roseville, CA; brother, Kevin Williams, sister, Debbie Chelotti, and husband Steve, of Pine Grove, CA; as well as many extended members of the Williams and Shortridge families who had a special place in her heart. Dianne grew up in Sacramento, CA and spent part of her teen years living in Italy and Morocco, due to her father's job with the Army Corp of Engineers. She returned to graduate with her class from James Marshall High in 1959, and to marry her high school sweetheart, Steve, in 1961. Dianne worked briefly as a secretary on the base before they moved to Santa Rosa, CA where she raised two children, and spent much of her time cooking, gardening, scrapbooking, and bowling. She also won several trophies over the years playing horseshoes until they moved to Pine Grove, CA when Steve retired from Santa Rosa Paper Company after 35 years. Their golden years were spent traveling, camping with their little dog Max, and donating their time to the AAHMES Shrine Clowns to benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children. After Steve's passing in 2016, Dianne moved to Jackson, CA, took up swimming, and continued to travel until 2020, when she rediscovered letter writing to keep in touch with loved ones. Some of her favorite pastimes included spending time with family and friends, boating on Lake Tahoe, listening to music, playing games, and watching her granddaughter dance. Dianne will be missed dearly by her entire family and by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A celebration of life will be held this spring.
