Jose "Mike" Miguel Parra

Jose Miguel "Mike" Parra 09/08/1963 to 04/03/2020 It is with deep regret and great sadness that we mourn the passing of our beloved Jose Miguel (Mike) Parra of La Mesa, California, on April 3, 2020, after a long struggle with cancer. Mike was born on September 8, 1963, in Ocean Beach, a community of San Diego, CA to Jose M. Parra, Sr and Laura (Orazi) Parra. Mike graduated from Helix High School in La Mesa, CA in 1981 and attended San Diego State University. Mike married Erika Larson on July 13, 2014. Mike was employed by Delta Design, a division of Cohu, Inc. in Poway, CA as a Project Planner. Mike loved traveling and most recently spent some time on the Malaysian Peninsula. He and Erika loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and hiking throughout the deserts of So. California. Mike is survived by his spouse Erika; his father Mike Sr. and wife Joan of Temecula, CA; his sister Amy Gilpin and husband Bradley, and their children, Brayden, Madelyn and Brooklyn of Discovery Bay, CA. The kids all adored their uncle and he enjoyed them immensely. Mike had many friends and touched the hearts and lives of everyone he met. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Laura of La Mesa, CA, who passed away March 1, 2020. Mike, we will always carry you in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society. Mike has been cremated. A Celebration of Life and his interment will be scheduled and announced at a later date due to the ongoing Covid 19 crisis.
