Stephanie Ungashick
April 29th, 1986 - April 21st, 2020
On Wednesday, April 21, 2020, Stephanie Marie Ungashick, known to friends as “Roo” and “Unga”, passed away at the age of 33. Stephanie was born April 29, 1986 in Denver, Colorado, and was the beloved daughter of Barbara Ungashick, and sister to Alyssa (Ungashick) Leslie , who lives in Washington State with her husband Martin and son Marty, and to her brother William “Billy” Ungashick , who lives in Denver. Stephanie Is also survived by her extended family and close friends. Stephanie graduated for P.S. 1 Charter school in Denver and then joined the Navy in 2009, working for the Department of the Intelligence as an Intelligence Specialist and was stationed in Bahrain in the Persian Gulf, Belleville, IL, and San Diego, CA. She was recognized by the Navy with several honors and awards to include: Global War on Terrorism Expenditure and Service Medals, Defense Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal and the Navy Overseas Service Ribbon to name a few. She retired from the Navy, then found a new passion in aviation mechanics and was studying at San Diego Miramar College. Stephanie was a courageous, loving, intelligent and very adventurous person. She loved her pets; dog, Mocha and cat, Charlie, had a passion for motorcycles, tattoos, and the Navy. Stephanie could be the life of any party and loved hanging out with her friends and family. She was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and very devoted friend to all. She will be forever missed. A military memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a future date. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
