Vernon Turner passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, in Folsom, CA at the age of 73 years old. He was born February 23, 1948, in Chico, CA to his parents, Lionel and Helen (Green) Turner. Vernon graduated from CSU, Chico with a degree in Accounting and practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for 50 years, retiring in September of 2020. Vern started his career in San Mateo, then moved to Petaluma during the mid 70’s where he raised his family with his wife Mary. During their time in Petaluma, Vern and Mary were active in the bowling league and loved playing cards with friends. In the Early 2000’s Vern and Mary relocated to Amador County to be closer to his children and grandchildren and to continue his career where he would retire. In 2008 Vern moved to Rancho Murieta where he enjoyed the last years of his life. He spent his time socializing at the Country Club, drinking wine with friends, attending concerts, traveling with family, and building a life with his sweetie Gail Barber. Vernon is survived by his sons, Aaron (Alison) of Wilton, CA, David (Ruthella) Turner of Ione, CA, Nathaniel (Alicia) of Placerville, CA, and Nicholas Turner of Petaluma, CA; sister, Tanya Wallace of San Jose, CA; Friend and “Sweetie” Gail Barber; grandchildren, Ashlie, Cole, Sabrina, Kailey, Cassidy, Sydney, and Sebastian; great grandchildren, Shawn, and Danielle. He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary and brothers, Don, and Ronnie. A celebration of life for Vernon will be held Friday, November 26, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at the Rancho Murieta Country Club, Rancho Murieta, CA. Contributions may be made in Vernon’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
