Roger Riggsby passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 in Jackson, Ca. at the age of 83 years old. He was born July 30, 1937 in Deerborn, MI to his parents, Chester and Helen Riggsby. Roger spent his childhood in Southern California until meeting the love of his life Joyce who he courted, married in 1961 and started a family. He had a long successful career in sales and according to one of his bosses he could sell "ice to Eskimos". He had the opportunity to move to Morgan Hill in Northern California with Joyce and his four children and did so in 1969. In the mid-eighties he had a calling to minister. He became a Deacon and later went to study in Oxford and became an ordained priest in 2008. He started his own church, St. Anselm of Canterbury, Elk Grove CA. His calling also found him as the chairman of the board of the Interfaith Food Bank in Amador County from 1996-2004. Roger and Joyce bought 35 acres on a beautiful piece of property in Sutter Creek, CA back in the 70's and built their dream home in 1992. All the while Roger kept his Passion for cars and racing. You could always find him at the drag races or watching the Indy 500. He collected and loved his cars. Over the past 10 years he was a docent at the California Auto Museum in Sacramento. If you ever had the pleasure of spending time with Roger in his home, you would always hear his love for music especially jazz and Frank Sinatra. Roger was also an avid sports fan. He rarely missed an Oakland Raiders game or an Oakland A's game. Many memories were spent watching and going to games. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Riggsby of Sutter Creek, CA; children, Kathryn (Mark) Dudley, Roger (Anna) Riggsby Jr., Mike (Tana) Riggsby and Sarah Riggsby; grandchildren, Sharon Tritle, Evan Picton, Gus and AJ Riggsby. A celebration of life for Father Roger will take place Saturday April 17, 2021 at 10:00am in an online service at The Light of Christ Anglican Church, Denver CO. please log on at that time to join at www.tlcdenver.com. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the Interfaith Food Bank at www.feedamador.org in Father Roger's name.
