Larry Austin Leatham, age 73, passed away on September 24, 2020 in Pine Grove, CA. He was born in Logan, UT on July 13, 1947, the son of the late Roma and Louis Leatham. In his decades long career as a Psychologist, he served in various professional capacities, including living abroad in the air force and working as a traveling Psychologist in the Northwestern states, with most years spent in Utah and California. Larry moved to Amador County in 1989. He had his own private practice for over a decade in Jackson, working with both County Mental Health and Amador Superior Court to help many individuals, families and children. He later served as a Psychologist at Mule Creek State Prison where he developed a program to counsel incarcerated individuals with high needs. Most recently, Larry served as a teacher’s instructional assistant for the Amador County School District. He touched the lives of many children and staff members throughout nearly 10 years of service in the district. His most treasured memories were those spent at Little Ponies as well as in transitional kindergarten and kindergarten classrooms. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He was adored by so many and will be remembered for his thoughtful nature, generosity, good sense of humor and “green thumb.” He was his students and his grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader. Larry is survived by his wife, LuAnn Leatham; sons, Dylan Leatham, Louis Leatham; step daughters, Ambren Neville and Whitney Staniford; sister, Carol Mathews; brothers, Dale Leatham, Hal Leatham; and grandchildren-Audrey, Eloise, Kaleb, Callie, Ella and Ruby. At his request there will be not be any services.
