Joline Lucile Brown
May 28th, 1927 - August 11th, 2020
Joline L. Brown (Hefley) was born May 28th, 1927 in Abiline, Kansas to David and Mildred Hefley. Joline relocated to Wyoming as a child and that’s where her love of the outdoors came from. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding her horse Smokey. She talked often of the beauty of both Jackson Hole and Cheyenne Wyoming. At age 16 at the roller rink she met and fell in love with Marland ‘Mickey” Brown and they were married in 1945 and made their home in California where they raised 5 children. Joline and Mickey ended up settling in the town of Sutter Creek. They both traveled the world but agreed there was no place as special as Sutter Creek. Joline enjoyed all kinds of crafts, but her family loved the beautiful blankets she crocheted for them. She was a dedicated homemaker, mother and grandmother. She insisted on everyone she met call her grandma. She leaves behind many “adopted’ children and grandchildren, once you were hers you were hers forever! No blood ties needed! You could always count on her sense of humor and listening ear, always available for anyone who needed her, but especially her children and grandchildren. They were here greatest joy and brightest stars. She will be so missed and never forgotten. She is survived by her sons and daughter in laws, Mitchell Brown (Sue), David Brown (Mary) Dan Brown (Penny); And daughters and son in laws, Jeanne Carlson (Al), Susan Dorris (Mike) Grandchildren: Todd Carlson, Wendy Vaught, Scott Webber, Mathew Brown, Jessie Brown, Danielle Murray-Clark (Tylor), David Brown, Peter Brown, Meagan Brown, Justin Brown (Dana), Phillip Temple (Heather), Cody Dorris, Kimberly Temple, Dylan Dorris. Great grandchildren: Dustin Vaught, Hayden Webber, Graysen Webber, Alivia Brown, Madison Temple, Payton Brown. And many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Marland “Mickey” Brown, and brother Pete Kaufman, and grandchildren Heidi McClellan and Bryan Temple. Special thanks to folsom care center dedicated staff for the special care you all gave grandma. Donations to honor Joline’s memory may be made to St. Judes Children Hospital.
