Mary Jane Mistron, age 77, of Jackson, CA, passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 in Jackson surrounded by her loving family. Mary Jane was born in Ross, CA on July 21, 1942, a daughter of the late Margaret (Marilli) and Eugene Steele. Mary grew up in Marin, CA. She moved to Sutter Creek, CA in 1961 with her husband Robert Mistron where they raised their three children and made lifelong memories. Mary’s true passions were being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her smile was infectious to all around her and she always made friends with everyone she met. Her grandkids were everything to her and she had a way of making the holidays extra special for her family, and the grandchildren especially. She made elf costumes for them to wear for Christmas and the grandchildren always looked forward to that tradition. There was a big Easter egg hunt with money eggs each year for Easter that was orchestrated by Mary. This was another holiday that the grandchildren looked forward to spending with their Grandma. She loved to bake with the kids and they loved spending the time with her in the kitchen. Mary also enjoyed crocheting, needle point, collecting antiques, taking RV trips, talking on the phone, and gambling with her friends. Mary worked for her husband’s business doing secretarial and book keeping work and also managed apartments. Mary Jane is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 59 years, Robert Mistron of Jackson; two faithful canine companions, Henry and Trixie; daughter, Suzie (Jon) Pfitzer, of Jackson, CA; son, Thomas (Kristin) Mistron, of Pine Grove, CA; sister, Kathy (Donald) Ghormley, of Plymouth, CA; brother, Bob (Kathy) Toops; and grandchildren and great grandchildren, Adam Bates, Chelsie Wiggs, Nena Mistron, Connor Mistron, Caitlin Neuner, Caydence Wiggs, Matthew Santana, Amelia Brumbaugh, Cody Neuner, Shelby Hoaas, Zachary Pfitzer, Kailey Borrego, AJ Borrego, and Aurora Borrego. She is also survived by her beloved niece, Margaret (Shiler) Roland; nephew, Tim Pasisz; great-niece, Brianna Roland; and countless other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Ted Mistron; grandson, Dusty Mistron; and sister, Patricia Pasisz. A private graveside service was held at Sutter Creek Catholic Cemetery.
