Samuel Troy Ellis

Samuel Troy Ellis, 34, of Jackson, CA, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019. He was born in Reno, NV on February 9, 1984 to Jean Marie (Gerard) and Robert Theodore Ellis. Samuel attended Jackson Elementary, Jackson Jr. High and Argonaut High School. He continued his education at Columbia college, where he earned an AS in Biology. Samuel also earned his BS in Biology from Humboldt State in 2009. Although he enjoyed the beauty of Arcata, Amador County was his home. He found comfort in taking trips up highway 88 and exploring the surrounding area. Samuel grew up with a deep appreciation for the natural sciences. He enjoyed being outdoors and had a supportive and close group of friends who accompanied him on his adventures. Samuel loved to delve deep into subjects that interested him. He was passionate about geneology, cars, economics, politics, and insects. He shared the final years of his life with his girlfriend, Laura Kahn and her two daughters, whom he loved and cared for. He also spent time with his friends, his wonderful caregivers, and his dog, Daisy, who never left his side. Samuel is survived by his three brothers, Robert (Michelle) Ellis, of Central Point, OR, Dennis (Celina) Ellis, of England, and Ian Ellis, of Jackson, CA. Services will be announced in the spring.
