Ronald Lee Morris, of Ione, CA, passed away at his home on Friday, May 26, 2017, at the age of 79. He was born in Purcell, OK on July 16, 1937 to the late Ruby Rachael (Meredith) and Virgil Lee Morris. He was the beloved husband of Joyce Morris. Ronald proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines. After the Marines, he worked at Stanford University as an electronics engineer. In 1961 he married the love of his life, Eva Joyce Gaddy. Upon retirement in 1995, Ronald and Joyce moved to Forest Hill to live in their beautiful retirement home. In 2011, they moved to Ione to be close to their family. Ronald's family was everything to him, and the sun rose and set around his grandsons. Everyone looked forward to Sunday dinners at Papa and Nana's house, where the whole family was welcome and included. Friends even felt like family and often attended. The grandsons adored their Papa. His family remembers him as the most responsible, kindest, most generous, and most caring person they knew. Ronald genuinely cared about everyone and put all others first. He was a wonderful example of a man. Ronald leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Eva Joyce Morris; two sons and daughter-in-law, Terry and JoAnne Morris, of Ione, CA, and Richard Nichols of Salinas, CA; sister, Michele (Mike) Skorstad of Granite Bay, CA; grandsons, Nick Morris and Tony Morris; and Allyx, who was like a granddaughter to him. He was preceded in death last year by his brother, Robin Doyle Morris. At the family's request, there will be no services. Contributions in Ronald's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 33105-1905.
