John Thomas Rasmussen, a 34-year resident of Pioneer, CA passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the age of 63 years old. John was born in Alameda, CA on August 28, 1953 to Al and Gladys Rasmussen. He was a man of service, always more than willing to help others with whatever the tasks were at hand, large or small - it did not matter. He would do what he could to ease the burdens of others. John loved the outdoors- bicycling, camping, scuba diving, water skiing, riding the Harley down some old beautiful winding road, hunting, fishing or just enjoying a nice cold beer after cutting wood on a hot summer day. John in survived by his wife, Dorothy Rasmussen of Pioneer, CA; children, Malinda (Aaron) Southard of Gardnerville, NV and Kristoffer Rasmussen of Fayetteville, NC; granddaughter, Emma Mae Southard; his mother Gladys Rasmussen; siblings, Michaele (Bruce) Baxter of Castro Valley, CA and Greg (Anna) Rasmussen of Castro Valley, CA.
