Manuel Tellez Leighton of Pioneer, CA, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 in Pioneer, CA. at the age of 70 years. He was born in Auburn, CA. on February 17, 1945, son of Juana Maria (Tellez) and Edward Rodriguez Leighton. He was a truck driver for 37 years and was in the Teamster Union with Safeway for 23 years. Manuel moved to Amador County just a few months ago after purchasing his retirement home. He has previously resided in the Stockton and Tracy area for the majority of his adult life. Manuel is survived by his children, Linda Leighton, Laura Nelson, Lana (Christopher) Ellsworth and Manuel Leighton; brother, Edward (Kathy) Leighton; sisters, Breatrice, Patricia, Helen and Mary; grandchildren, Kristina, Sean, Aaron, Alissa, Samantha and Ashley; great grandchildren, Brody and Morgan. He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Louise Leighton. At his request there will be no services.
