Jack Morgan

Jack Morgan, age 84, of Ione, CA, passed away on April 6, 2015, at 3:00 P.M. Jack was born in Oakland, CA on July 26, 1930, a son of the late Helen (Souza) and Frederick Morgan. Jack lived in Oakland until the age of 5 when his family moved to Hayward. There, Jack would meet the love of his life, Betty in high school. Jack and Betty would marry in 1951 once Jack had finally said yes. Shortly after they were married, Jack joined the U.S. Army, serving in Korea until July of 1953 as a mortar man in the Sixth Army. Jack worked with both Teamsters and Operating Engineers as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. In 1968, Jack and Betty would move from the home they built in the Bay Area to Ione, where Jack and Betty would build a new home, in which they lived until his passing. Jack retired from operating the family ranch in Davis Creek, CA at the age of 60 after suffering a stroke. This would not hold him back it only allowed him more time to do the things he truly loved, like working on the family ranch in Ione. Jack was an exemplary father and role model for his sons and grandchildren, and he was adored by his wife, Betty. In his later years Jack enjoyed following the Sacramento Kings and the San Francisco Giants, and anything on RFDTV. Jack is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Morgan of Ione; sons, Jack Morgan and his wife, Sandra, of Jackson CA; Rock Morgan and his fiancé Robin Hori of Ione, CA; sister, Nadine Nascimento, of Madera, CA; grandchildren, Scott, Kelly, Ryan and great grandson, Jack. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, George Albert; sister, Pearl Anderson and her husband, Darrell Anderson and brother in law, Leonard Nascimento. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 10 A. M. at Daneri Mortuary in Jackson.
