Ada E. Pool
October 1st, 1916 - August 14th, 2014
Ada was one of three daughters of Marie and John B. Moro. Both Marie and John were born in Italy. Ada was the oldest living sister when she died at 97. She was born in Guadalupe, California where her father owned a bar and restaurant. Her father moved his family to Santa Barbara where Ada went to Santa Barbara High School. She worked for her father and mother when they owned the Ledo Café in Montecito and she married Harry Pool Sr. Later in life, she worked at Info Mag and UCSB in the kitchen. Ada was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer in December 2013. She decided to have home hospice so she could spend more time with her son and grandchildren. She was a strong wife, a wonderful mother, and the best friend. She never lost her sense of humor or her awareness to the end. She died peacefully in her sleep at 10:15 pm Thursday night August 14th, 2014. She is survived by her son, Harry Pool Jr, her grandson, Jimmy Pool, granddaughter Rebecca Coplin and great grandson Wayne Bloxham. Services entrusted to McDermott-Crockett Mortuary. There will be a graveside service Friday 8/22/14 at 1pm at the Santa Barbara Cemetery. -
