Rula Mae Stanger / Gengler / Briggs passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2014, in Jackson CA. Rula was born March 12, 1922 to Orville and Virgie Stanger in Pocatello, Idaho. She was married to Wilson S. Gengler on October 14, 1939 until his passing January 16, 1992. She was also married to Max S. Briggs, April 11, 1998 until his passing December 27, 2005. Rula is survived by her three loving daughters, Diana Kelly (Tommy), of Diamond Springs, CA; Lynnette Otto (John), of Sutter Creek, CA; and Carla Mottishaw (Trevor), of Jackson, CA., eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters, Orvilla Bailey of Eagle Mountain, Utah; Joyce White (Dovell) of Temecula, CA., and brother Chuck Stanger (El) of Pioneer CA. Rula and Wilson lived in Richmond, CA for many years, moving to Walnut Creek, CA in 1959 and eventually retiring to Jackson in 1973. She spent over 40 years doing accounting work in the Bay Area and Amador County. She will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She loved to travel across America and Europe, to paint and take long walks with her grandchildren. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she was active in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Relief Society, Book Club and Widowers Group. During her retirement years she went on two missions for the Church. Viewing will be held at Daneri Mortuary on Thursday, November 20th, from 4 - 8:00 PM with Memorial Service on Friday at 1:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, on Ridge Road in Jackson, CA.. Donations in Rula's memory may be made to the local cancer support group "Amador Stars", P.O. Box 208, Jackson, CA 95642.
