Richard "Rick" Charles Swett of Jackson, CA, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento at the age of 69. He was born in Lodi, CA on April 24, 1944 to the late Virgil and Margaret (Leam) Swett. Upon graduating from Jackson High School in 1962, Rick ran a gas station before being hired by PG and E, working in the Stockton area for 13 years. Rick married Eileen in 1981 at her family home in West Point. He worked as a general contractor for the past 25 years becoming semi-retired in the last 10 years and continued to operate the family cattle ranch. Rick was a life member of True Sportsman Gun Club in Ione winning the title of State of California Champion Trap Shooter of 1974. He also was a 15 year member of the Jackson Elks Lodge and an avid golfer belonging to Castle Oaks Senior Men's Club. Rick is survived by his wife of 33 years, Eileen Swett of Jackson; daughters, Sherril Wurm and her husband, Jerod of El Dorado, Hills, Laura Swett and her husband, Mark of Sutter Creek, Rita Carlton of Rancho Murieta, Julie Walters of Orangevale, CA; brothers, Donald Swett and his wife, Chris of Jackson, Robert Swett and his wife, Cindy of Pine Grove; grandchildren, Margaret, Jason, Jess, Taylor, Jonathon, Macey, Matsen, Mavery; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil in June 1982 and Margaret in January 2000. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at Daneri Mortuary Chapel in Jackson, CA at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, January 5, 2014. A reception will immediately follow the celebration of life at the Jackson Elks Lodge, 12500 Kennedy Flat Road in Jackson. Memorial contributions may be made to Sutter Amador Hospital Foundation Board, 200 Mission Blvd., Jackson, CA 95642 or Blue Mountain Coalition for Youth and Families, P.O.
