James Pedro

James Jerome Pedro, age 66, of Ione, CA, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013 in Ione. James was born in San Jose, CA on January 5, 1947, a son of the late Isabel Bernice (Freitas) and Anthony Edward Pedro. James joined the US Air Force in July of 1965 as the administration specialist and later became a law center manager (Paralegal Superintendent). James would retire as a MSgt in 1989. James married Lidwina Brasil Silva on August 30, 1973 at a courthouse in Santa Clara, CA. The two would later have their traditional Catholic Wedding in the Azores with their family in attendance. James and Lidwina would have a daughter, Elizabeth and the three of them would travel the world together. They lived in many different parts of the United States and Europe while James was serving his country. Their lives were an adventure which they would forever treasure. In 1984 James earned a Paralegal degree from the Community College of the Air Force then proceeded to receive his Bachelor's in Government from California State University, Sacramento. In 1989 James would go to work for the Sacramento County District Attorney's office as a paralegal superintendent, retiring in 2005. As much as James loved his family he also enjoyed working and helping others. He lived his life without regret. James is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lidwina Pedro; daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Alan Gregory, of Ione; grandchildren, Donovan & Alexandra Gregory; sister, Bonnie Lea, and her husband, Leonard Sanchez, of Hollister, CA. Friends are invited to attend a visitation, Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM followed by a vigil service at 7:00 PM, Daneri Mortuary, 415 Broadway in Jackson. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013, 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ione, CA. The graveside service is on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, 10:30 AM. at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, CA.
