Andrew David MacFadyen
March 10th, 1961 - August 8th, 2013
Andy was born in San Francisco, CA. He graduated from Cupertino High School in 1979 and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University in 1984. Andy started his career at Signetics in Sunnyvale, CA in sales and marketing. He then served as a National Technical Sales Manager, for many local distribution companies in AZ including: Anthem/Arrow, Insight/Memec, Avnet and Falcon Electronics. He served his local community by coaching his son and daughter's sports teams; he was on his neighborhood's HOA, serving on the Architectural Committee for 18 years. He actively supported the Highland High School Band Boosters and was a proud member of the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps. He was a huge fan of the San Francisco 49ers, SF Giants, the AZ Diamondbacks and NASCAR. Following these sports was a true hobby. He enjoyed camping, bowling and especially Las Vegas where he played many an hour of blackjack. He always worked on projects at home and loved spending time with his family. Andy is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Kim, two devoted children, Kelli, (26) and Michael, (21). He is also survived by his beloved mother, Patricia MacFadyen, (Santa Clara, CA), predeceased by father, John MacFadyen, and brother Edward MacFadyen, survived by sister-in-law, Tracie MacFadyen, (Santa Clara, CA) nieces Michelle (22) and Amy MacFadyen, (18) his in-laws; Gerry and Peggy Pieters, (Sun Lakes, AZ) brother-in-laws, Gerry and Steve Pieters, (Morgan Hill and Folsom, CA) and their families. Andy loved his family and friends and was generous with his time and money. He loved to have fun and enjoyed a good party. We will remember his sense of humor and he will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations for the family may be made to any Wells Fargo Bank: Acct # 3554833602, under Kimberly MacFadyen, in Andy MacFadyen's memory. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 8, 2014 from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. Speakers start at 3:30 P.M. and a video will follow.
