Ronald John Moreira
October 20th, 1951 - March 12th, 2013
Ronald John Moreira passed away peacefully, March 12, 2013, at age 61. He was born in Hayward on October 20, 1951 to Frances (Lazzaro) and Joseph Moreira. He graduated from San Lorenzo High School in 1969 and spent many years in Hayward before moving to Jackson in 2002. Ron was a career truck driver having worked for Material Transport for many years, Amador Transit Mix, and was currently employed by ACES Waste Services, driving tractor/transfer trailers to Kiefer Landfill. Ron married Susan Evans in Maui in 2001, and they moved to Jackson in 2002. Ron loved to travel and camp in their fifth wheel trailer, spending summers at Bear River resort and trips to the coast. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, and enjoyed riding his Harley. Ron was a die hard Oakland Raiders fan and never missed watching a game. He was a member of the Native Sons of the Golden West, Excelsior Parlor #31 in Jackson. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Joseph, Jr. and Robert. Ron is survived by wife Susan; son Douglas Medeiros; daughters Wendy Keith (Robbie); Jennifer Almendariz (Jimmy) and Rebecca Moreira. Grandchildren, Tyler, Jimmy, Jr., Cameron, Cassandra, Matthew and Sarah; Niece, Sue Freitas; Great-nephews, Kyle Freitas (Jolia) and their children Leland and Logan; Kevin Freitas, and his son Lucas. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life reception for Ron Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 2:00 pm at the Italian Picnic Grounds in Sutter Creek. Burial will be private.
