Gene Yvonne Rule

Gene Yvonne Rule, age 87, of Ione, California, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 18, 2013. Gene was born in Cedaredge, CO on August 30, 1925, a daughter of the late Beatrice (Vogan) and Earl Stewart Dunlap. Gene is survived by daughters, Em Rojas, of Ione; Dee, and her husband, Mark Moreci, of Concord; grandchildren, Laura (Luis), Shawn, George (Deb); great grandchildren; Vladdy and Nikki. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur in1988; son, Neal in 1999; brother, Stewart Dunlap and son-in-law, Don Rojas. Gene married Arthur Rule, a highly accomplished Musician and Highway Engineer on December 6, 1943 in Sacramento, Ca. Gene worked as an Aircraft inspector, an original "Rosie the Riveter", at McClellan Field during WWII. She later managed the Housewares Department at Orchard Supply Hardware Store in San Jose for 20 years before retiring in 1988 after the loss of her husband, Arthur. She loved her family and her flowers. She referred to her children and grandchildren as "the flowers in her garden". She was the beloved matriarch of the family and was known as GG and Gma by her grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service Thursday, February 28, 2013, 1:00 PM at Los Gatos Memorial Park in San Jose.
