Nicolas "Nick" Roots

Nicolas "Nick" Anthony Roots, 43, of Jackson, Ca passed away Tuesday, September 4th, 2012. Nick was born in Fortuna, CA on June 3, 1969, a son of the late Loretta (Yank) and Chadrick Roots, Sr. Nicolas is survived by his wife, Patricia (Cranfill) Roots, daughters, Jessica and Kelly Roots, all of Jackson; brothers, Doug Turner of Washington, Chad and his wife Debbie Roots of Angels Camp, sisters Crystal Roots of Tulare, Amber Roots of Jackson, aunts Carolyn and her husband, Earl Addams of Pennsylvania, Dolores and her husband Darrell Larrigan of Ione, cousins Mike and his wife, Kristi Roots of Ione, Jeff and his wife, Kimberly of Volcano, and father and mother in law, Arlen and Bonnie Cranfill of Jackson, and sister in law, Melissa Cranfill of Ione. Nick graduated from Calaveras High School in 1988 and was then employed at the body shop at Prospect Motors in Jackson for almost ten years. Nick chose to continue his education and acquired his CNA, certified nursing assistant certificate. He enjoyed working with all of his patients over the years at Kit Carson Convalescent Hospital. Growing up, Nick was active in athletics and participated in football and wrestling. Anyone who knew him was always reminded of how much of an avid Dallas Cowboy fan he was, even when they were losing. When he wasn't busy watching football, he enjoyed his summers camping at Silver Lake. In the winter he couldn't wait to play in the snow with his family. On Saturday mornings he loved watching cartoons with his girls, especially Spongebob Squarepants.
