Lynn Nina Hartnett
April 13th, 1948 - July 14th, 2012
Lynn Hartnett passed away on July 14, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her children who guided her to heaven with their love. Lynn was born to Jack and Mary (Hiatt) Scott in San Jose, CA in 1948. She was the middle of three children, sister, Beth Petelle and brother, Mark Scott. She enjoyed a happy childhood and lived in San Jose for all of her youth. In 1969, Lynn met her future husband, William Hartnett. They had four children together and were a very happy family. In 1977 she and Willie decided to move their family from the big city of San Jose to the small town life in Jackson. They wanted a safer and small town up bringing for their children. When they arrived in Jackson they made the decision to open their home to foster children and did so for 17 years. Children were very important to them both and they had enough love for many of them. Over the years they became legal guardians of three of their foster children bringing their total to seven children of their own. The Hartnett home was also a home to their children's friends through the years with Lynn throwing great slumber parties and events. Whenever any child came into her home, if even for a night Lynn treated them all as if they were one of her own. She loved them and cared for them all the same. She was truly an extraordinary mother and later in life the best grandmother a child could ask for. She was also an avid San Francisco Giants fan. Her favorite player was Tim Lincecum (bobblehead) and she never missed a game right up to the end. Even if she could only listen she always knew what her Giants were doing. Lynn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Willie. She is survived by her son, Gary Reeder (Pam); daughters Jami Hattan (Don), Donna Barnes (George), Jenni Kellerman (Jay), Jodi Wilmarth (Jim), Tanjia Conrardy (Craig), Trixie Brubaker; her 13 grandchildren; and her beloved macaws, Nicky and Micky. At Lynn's request, services will be private. (Yes mom, we listened.) Donations can be made to Amador Stars, P.O. Box 208, Jackson, CA 95642 or Hospice of Amador and Calaveras Counties, P.O. Box 595, Jackson, CA 95642. A special thank you to Hospice nurse, Kathy for her great care and concern for Lynn until the end. And a thank you to Daneri Mortuary for their professionalism and care.
