Rosemarie Garver Nesbit, a long-time resident of Jackson, passed on Wednesday, April 25, in Sacramento, where she has resided for the past 10 years. Rosemarie is at peace after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Born in 1929 to Rose Adeline (Arrata) and Otto Henry Garver, she attended school in Jackson and graduated as the Class of '47 Valedictorian. Although she endured many obstacles along the way, Rosemarie's strength carried her to success. She enjoyed tennis, hiking, geology, history, the 49ers, chocolate and had a beautiful smile that could light up a room. After attending UC Berkeley, she married Paul Nesbit, Jr. (deceased 1994). Together they raised three children in Jackson, a city she loved and cherished. Many lives were touched by her active involvement in the community. Her involvement included being a member of the 18-30 Club, a Cub Scout den mother and a Camp Fire leader. Working as the Jackson High School secretary from 1966-1989, many people fondly remember Mrs. Nesbit and her friendly, helpful demeanor. Rosemarie is survived by: her three children Glenn and his wife Brook, David and his friend Linda, Laura and her husband Max Hammond; her five grandchildren Carrie Natividad and husband Dan, Elizabeth Taireh and husband Fadi, Francis Leou and spouse Mark Carmack, Paul Nesbit, and Amber McMains; and her four great-grandchildren Nalina, Kirrah, Kayden, and Daphne. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. This Jacksonian woman will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be given to the Alzheimer's Research Center (http://www.alzheimersinfo.org/donations.html) Alzheimer's Research Center, 640 Jackson Street, St. Paul, MN 55101, 1-800-229-2872 A Celebration of Life will be held in Jackson at Daneri Mortuary Chapel on May 5th with viewing starting at 3:00 and the memorial at 4:00.
